In Norse Mythology, Rerir is the son of Sigi. Rerir killed his father's murderers. Rerir also ruled the Huns in Hunaland. Rerir's son is Völsung.
Rerir could not have any children until Odin and his consort Frigg sent them a giantess named Ljod carrying the apple of fertility. Rerir died shortly after this but his wife was pregnant for six years, until she had enough, and commanded that the child be delivered with a caesarian, an operation that in those days cost the life of the mother. Völsung was a strong child and he kissed his mother before she died.
Mount Rerir is a location in the fictional world of Middle-earth.
